  The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has announced its readiness to conduct another local government election in the state next year. OYSIEC made this disclosure via a statement signed by its Chairman, Aare Islakia Abiola Olagunju. DAILY POST recalls that the last local government election was conducted in the state in May 2021. The commission said that another election will be held on 27th April, 2024. Olagunju said that the commission was conducting the election in compliance with section 28 of Electoral Act 2022 (as amended), Section 5 (a) and Paragraph (1) Schedule 2. He urged prospective candidates to obtain nomination forms at the commission’s office. The commission added that the nomination forms are to be obtained on or before Monday 28 August, 2023

Clinic Shuts Down Over Alleged Ghost Attacks Shale Clinic in Umzingwane district, Zimbabwe , has been closed after nurses reported being sexually assaulted by invisible creatures, suspected to be tikoloshes.  The attacks have also been reported at a nearby primary school, where teachers have threatened to desert their posts. Villagers have convened an emergency meeting, resolving to hire prophets or traditional leaders for a cleansing ceremony. A local politician was accused of owning the tikoloshes but denied the allegations.  The traditional healer dismissed the initial cleansing, seeking more credible spiritual intervention.

Students Suspended because of not using facemask Pardoned, with the aid of SUG Intervention The school management of oyo state college of health science and technology eleyele ibadan, pardon students that were suspended for not using facemask with the intervention of the SUG body. He said the students that were suspended due to their non challant attitude of not using the facemasks has been pardoned  and asked to resume back to school.
