President Bola Tinubu has  written to the senate to approve a borrowing request of $800 million.... The loan, which will be sourced from the World Bank, will be used as palliatives to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal that is biting the poor hard. The Tinubu administration had removed fuel subsidy immediately after its inauguration, saying subsidy had increasingly favoured the rich over the poor.  The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), on Tuesday, engaged with the leadership of political parties in the state as part of its preparation for the 2024 Local Government Council Elections in the state.
